Starting Monthly Salary: Approx. 8,217 RMB (before tax and employee social insurance contributions; Employer share of social insurance contributions and 13 th month bonus are paid by the employer on top of the gross salary; Salary is non-negotiable)

Area of selection:
This position is open to external applicants residing in China who meet all of the essential qualifications and whose applications are received by the closing date.
Short-listed candidates should be able to participate in tests and/or interviews in Beijing at own expense. The successful candidate will be required to relocate to Beijing at own expense.
Summary of duties:
The Diplomatic Integration Coordinator will be responsible for assisting new Canadian diplomats and their families with a smooth integration to their assignment at the Embassy of Canada in Beijing.  The general functions include providing pre-arrival information services, assisting with the arrival and initial orientation, and providing post-arrival information and referral services. The Coordinator will also provide general administrative support to the Common Service program during the peak summer turnover season.   
Mandatory requirements:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree from university, OR an acceptable equivalent through the combination of education and work experience
Language:
  • Native level in Mandarin
  • Good command of English (spoken and written)
Experience:
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in providing client service
  • Experience in performing general administrative duties
Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of most commonly used smart phone apps
Abilities/skills:
  • Ability to conceptualize and implement processes, procedures and programs
  • Ability to transmit information and provide explanations
  • Ability to write effective business correspondence in English using Microsoft Outlook and Word software
Personal suitability:
  • Adaptability and flexibility - Willingly alters normal course of action
  • Client focus - Takes personal responsibility for correcting client problems
  • Initiative - Takes action under pressure
  • Effective interactive communication - Checks understanding and clarity

Preferred standing may be given to those candidates who also meet the following:
Language:
  • Proficiency in French (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
Organizational Needs:

Conditions of Employment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid working authorization in China. Per Chinese regulations, the Embassy / Consulates can only facilitate working visas for Canadian citizens
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid “Reliability Status” security clearance
Operational Requirement:
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice as required
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally as required
